Reader POV

Standing in front of the lake you peered in to the seemingly never ending depths of the dark blue water. In a few minutes you were going to become part of that darkness. You were going to drown yourself. Why? Because of 'them'. All the people whom you trusted that betrayed you and hurt you mind and body. Bruises and scars littered your body. Horrid words and the painful memories circled in your mind  All because you had two little cat ears and a tail. Because you were 'different'. You, (f/n) (l/n), 15 years old. Had suffered enough. You were going to end it all. All the pain would vanish. Remembering the past. Your mom beat you. Your father as well. Every time you thought you made a friend they'd betray you. You had one good memory. One true friend. His name was BEN. You had met him at the same lake you were going to drown in. The lake HE drowned in. He was the only one who you ever trusted. Your only friend. You always stayed with him when you wanted to get away from the rest of the world. But then he drowned. And you were alone once again. You had nothing left to live for right? No one would care if you died now. Closing your eyes you jumped into the lake. You felt the cold water surround you as you sank into the deep abyss. You thought of Ben and how he drowned in this lake. As your conscious was slipping away you felt someone pull you up. When you were out of the water you looked to see who saved you. Your eyes widened at who you saw. "B-Ben..?" It was him. But you remembered he had drowned. "Is it really you?" He sighed then spoke. "Yes it's me (f/n)." You were confused. "I thought you drowned, that you died. He looked a little sad. "Well in a way I did die. But it's kinda hard to explain why I'm here but—." Before you knew it you were hugging him. "I'm so glad your here. I thought I was going to be alone. So I...." He wrapped his arms around you tightly. "You don't have to be alone anymore." You felt hot tears running down your cheeks. You were relieved and....happy. Ben brushed away the tears. He looked at you and smiled sweetly. It was that same smile that you loved. "(F/n)" you looked at Ben through your tears. "Yes?" He rubbed your brown ears. "I missed you." You had never been so happy. "I missed you too Ben." He smiled at you. "(F/n) will you be mine?" "Yes." He looked at your ears. The cat ones. "I missed these adorable ears of yours. And your cute little tail." You blushed. No one had ever said anything nice about your cat features. Ben never said anything about them either, good or bad. You knew right then and there you truly loved him. "I love you (f/n)." It was then he leaned close to you and kissed you. Your first kiss. And it was with your first love. You felt so lucky. All the bad memories went away. For good. You didn't care anymore. Wrapping your arms around him you closed your eyes. And melted into the kiss. When you pulled apart you smiled at Ben. "I love you too Ben. I always did." He smiled sweetly at you. And you both stood there in an embrace. You thought to yourself. 'Maybe life isn't so bad after all.' You realized you had a purpose for living. And you were going to live happily. With Ben.
